Delivery Driver w/ CDL (Manual) – Seafood Freight & Local Deliveries (Chalmette)

We’re a locally owned seafood processing and distribution company looking for a dependable Delivery Driver to join our team.
You’ll handle daily deliveries and freight pickups between Lafayette, LA and Biloxi, MS, including loading and unloading at docks.
POSITION DETAILS:
Base Location: Chalmette, LA
Route Range: Lafayette, LA → Biloxi, MS
Hours: Around 30 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, some Saturdays required
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely operate 26’ box trucks for daily deliveries
Operate tractors with 53’ trailers (manual CDL required) when needed
Perform freight pickups and drop-offs at docks, including loading and unloading seafood freight
Verify delivery paperwork, maintain accurate route logs, and ensure product quality during transport
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and report any maintenance issues
If additional hours are requested, opportunity to assist in the seafood plant when delivery volume is low (packing, organizing, cleaning, etc.)
Communicate with dispatch and plant management to coordinate schedules and deliveries
REQUIREMENTS:
Valid CDL Class A (Manual Transmission)
Clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold/freezer environments
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
Experience with freight handling, dock deliveries, or seafood distribution is a plus
