IT Inspirations is expanding our field operations in the New Orleans area. We are looking for experienced structured cabling and telecom technicians to take on upcoming commercial jobs. If you take pride in clean IT closet buildouts, precision terminations, and reliable network infrastructure, we want you on our team.
What You Will Be Doing
Cable Installation: Pulling, routing, and securing CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cabling across active commercial jobs.
Pathway Construction: Installing J-hooks, cable trays, ladder racks, and D-rings to properly support cable runs.
Terminations & Dressing: Punching down patch panels, terminating RJ-45 jacks, and meticulously dressing and labeling all cables.
Equipment Setup: Mounting and connecting wireless access points (WAPs), network switches, and related telecommunications hardware.
Testing & Verification: Troubleshooting and verifying drops using standard field testing equipment.
What We Need From You
Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in commercial low-voltage cabling.
Tools & Transport: Your own basic telecom hand tools (snips, punch-down tool, crimper) and reliable transportation to various job sites.
Quality Focus: A strong commitment to clean cable management and high-quality workmanship.
Physical Capability: Ability to work on ladders or lifts, lift up to 50 pounds, and follow strict site safety protocols.
