I prioritize servicability, reliability, and replacability, which you won't find in so many mail order ebikes, where if you break a battery/controller/throttle you have to wait 3 weeks.
This bike will outlive most of what you see on the market because every component can be changed in less than 10 minutes without waiting for 3 weeks to MAYBE get the right part from China.
The bike is thrash-proof. You can jump it off a roof, and if you mess up your landing and can still get up, you can count on it to get you home.
A lot of parts are 3d printed so replacing them is a matter of pushing a button, and highly improvable.
This bike is also a demonstration of how i can help you build a custom ebike worth living by. You probably won't want this bike, but you will like the way it rides and services, so I can help you put the parts on your own pedal bike.
This bike started as a bottom dollar kent bmx coaster brake, tuned up. and stretched to fit an adult like a folding bike.
Then I fitted this 36v front ehub, designed and 3Dprinted GREENWORKS battery holders, cable guides, controller and charger holders, and of course the goofy goat face, so you grab the goat by the horns to steer, power, and brake. The goatface serves as a wire harness, and weather guard for the controller and charger. The battery holders are time tested, I've been thrashing a similar setup on my ebike for almost 10yr and thousands of miles.
Tires are 100psi Kenda Kiksumbut, a good balance of toughness, weight, cost.
Top speed 20mph, 12mi per charge at top speed no stops.
Battery is quick swappable like a power tool, so just carry extra batteries if you want to go farther.
The batteries are $100/pair on ebay, always USA stock.
In 2016, I compared every battery for $/Whr, Greenworks clone is still the best deal, even compared to larger EV batteries!
Not only can you use these batteries to power yard machines, but also Dyson vacuum cleaners, inverters, light fixtures, computers... and when you aren't riding, the bike is a charging station, just roll to the outlet and plug in.
