Beautiful antique Seth Thomas Ogee 30-hour wall clock. A local clock expert told us about a year ago that it is in working condition, but we have not had it tested lately and are selling it as is. We were also told that it dates from the 1830’s to 1870’s, but no later than 1874. Part of the original paper label is still inside but nothing legible to show the manufacturing date. Seth Thomas Plymouth Hollow Conn. is marked on the movement, generally indicating early production (Plymouth Hollow was renamed Thomaston in 1875).
Mahogany case. Original “wavy” glass in the front door. The lower glass has a reverse painted nautical/ship design. Weight driven. It comes with two weights, a brass detachable pendulum, and a brass crank key (we understand that you only turn the minute hand clockwise).
The clock shows normal wear for its age, making it a great decorative piece or addition to an antique collection.
