Alert to fellow Craigslist gig/volunteer seekers:
QR Code Link to This Post
I have noticed a proliferation of bogus ads recently for focus groups, opinion research, mock juries, etc. recently. There are a couple of clues to look for:
1. The link to "answer survey questions", "fill out application", etc. is not secure. Look for https (secure)-not http.
2. Pay is often too good to be true: $150/200 for 1 hour! Even if the pay rate is realistic, I never click on a link for such gigs unless it's secure (https).
These Bozos may not necessarily be trying to drain your bank account. But you may find your email inbox flooded with spam and wonder what you did wrong.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
There's a sucker born every minute.
