The neighborhood

Historical Homes, Restaurants, Bars, and City Park! Esplanade Ave. is a great route nearby to take as a pedestrian to and from the neighborhood. Esplanade also leads you through the French Quarter to the Riverbed where you can explore the ByWater area.

Local Recommendations in the neighborhood: (Outside of the French Quarter)

The street car (Trolly) can be caught at North Rampart Street. $3 pass will last 24 hours, and give you unlimited rides to anywhere in the city. Changing cars is easy, and drivers are helpful navigating directions.

The Box Spot is right around the corner with J's Creole Wings & a salad stand. The restaurants have outdoor seating, and are constructed from shipping containers. 1700 N Claiborne Ave, New Orleans, LA 70116

Frenchmen Street activities are the closest night life to the house. This is also my favorite area to hang out. Bamboulas is one of many with great live music, and awesome food. Dat Dogs is a great spot to grab food and beer. Go upstairs at Dat Dog and hang out on the balcony corner. You will undoubtedly catch awesome live street performances on the corner below.

Port of Call on Esplanade is an infamous dive & burger joint.

St. Roch Market on Saint Claude Ave. has a variety of local eats and healthy choices in a hipster food court setting. You will also see some dope street art along the way. Saint Claude Ave. also has a variety of dive bars that are all interesting.

Getting around

Parking is free. Public transportation is near by. Uber and Lyft are easy options for car services.

N. Rampart St. & Canal St. are both points where you can catch the street car. $3 for a 24-hour pass.

Esplanade Ave. is about 4 blocks over. There are lots of beautiful historic mansions to see from City Park to the Crescent City river front.
