This position will be filled as an Engineer I, II, III, or Senior, based on relevant experience. Duties for this position include meeting with residential, commercial, industrial and governmental customers to determine their electrical requirements. Provide technical guidance to Engineer Assistants to determine the best design practices. Review and recommend for approval electrical designs that meet customer needs, comply with company standards and enhance the overall system performance and reliability. Participate in meetings with external customers, architects, developers, contractors and government entities to communicate installation standards and guidelines. Serve as a local distribution design engineering solutions resource. Perform engineering calculations to aid in planning and corrective measures. Assist with electric service restoration during storm conditions, including local and out of area assignments.
Qualifications
--BS in Engineering, preferably electrical with at least 1 year of experience
--Someone seeking a challenging engineering career track.
--Energetic and able to work well under pressure
--Excellent oral and written communications skills
--Excellent math skills
--Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment
--Ability to mange multiple activities and changing priorities
--Good project management skills
THESE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS ARE DESIRED:
--Knowledge of distribution construction practices and materials
--Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
--Familiarity with NESC, NEC Distribution Standards
--Basic knowledge of distribution processes and materials
--Knowledge of DIS, AM/DFM, AutoCAD.
