We are a loving family who have much experience with children of all ages. We feel like we still have lots of love, happiness, experience, fun, time and energy to offer more children. We have home schooled and loved the entire experience and are looking forward to doing it all again. We are hoping to adopt a baby, toddler or young sibling group.

We have gone through all the requirements for a state adoption including the home study, the background check, the parenting classes, the first-aid course and more. But we just didn't like our experience going through the state so we decided to try for an independent adoption using just our attorney for the paperwork. We are just wanting to connect with someone that needs us as much as we want them.

We have a lovely home on several acres with some farm animals and a swimming pool. We live in a beautiful, small, safe family oriented community that has been a wonderful place to rais a family. We want to be able to share all of this plus our love and experience with more children.

There are so many more things we'd like to say here about our family but there is just not enough time and space for it all. If you or someone you know if thinking of adoption as an option then please let us know. We are familiar with all stages of raising children and we already know we love it! I am writing this in hopes of your prayers and donations

I am Pastor Mike with New Horizon Ministry.

I have a family that needs your help. In the past 6 months they have had a very trying time of it. They are 8 months past due on there mortgage. They anwered one of those adds that says they can redo your mortgage and refinance your home. This company told them they must be at least 90-120 past due in order for them to help. Well 6 months have gone buy and the only thing accomplished was the foreclosure notice being sent out and a sale date set on the family home. There are 2 young children living there as well as the grandmother suffering from Alziemers and a single father.The total amount to restore the mortgage and bring current is $8150.00

Invisible Children Comes to New Orleans! Make The War in Uganda End! (Alcee Fortier Park, Mid-City)

Invisible Children is a NGO (non-government organization) that is educating Americans, and people all over the world, about the 23-year war that has been going on in Uganda. Their goal is to inform regular citizens (like us) about the lives of children and families in Uganda that have been torn apart by war, disease, kidnapping, rape, and displacement camps where children die every day from malnourishment. Remember what it felt like to be forced out of New Orleans because your home flooded, and the city was deserted? Do you remember the people who were trapped in the Superdome and the Convention Center? Now, imagine that they stayed there for 23 YEARS!! You might come close to the true-life stories of Ugandan refugees.

A little about the documentary that began Invisible Children:

In the spring of 2003, three young filmmakers traveled to Africa in search of a story. What started out as a filmmaking adventure transformed into much more when these boys from Southern California discovered a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them, a tragedy where children are both the weapons and the victims. After returning to the States, they created the documentary �Invisible Children: Rough Cut,� a film that exposes the tragic realities of northern Uganda�s night commuters and child soldiers. See this film and you will be forever changed.

Lamplight Circle is technically hosting this event, but Invisible Children will be running the show. A crew of 4-6 people from the Invisible Children Headquarters in San Diego are driving down to New Orleans to screen several films documenting the lives of Uganda's invisible children. These people are extremely dedicated, and are giving 5 months of their time for free (and they're not getting paid to do this) in order to show the public the travesty of Uganda, and to motivate us to contact representatives and push our legislators to help end the war in Uganda and send the refugees home, keep the children safe, arrest Joseph Kony (who kidnaps African children and forces them to be soldiers), to help build schools, and to create a new life for the victims of this horrific war.

These documentaries will show you real-life Uganda, including exposes on several brave children who have endured more than we can imagine.

The Thai Institute of Healing Arts was founded by Thais to advance Thai healing arts in the USA. We focus on creating an authentic learning environment for students interested in exploring the traditional healing practices of Thailand. Those interested in a career change or those looking to add new techniques to their current healing practice will be equally challenged and inspired. Each of our courses is enriched with theoretical discussions and cultural experiences to allow the western student the opportunity to gain the deepest knowledge in Thailand's ancient healing arts. This knowledge comes directly from the source, Thailand.
This course thoroughly teaches the principles in the art of traditional Thai massage. This course teaches the classic 90-minute traditional Thai massage routine taught throughout Thailand. Thai culture, history, philosophy and traditions will help to enrich the course. The principles of alignment, safety and good practitioner body mechanics will be taught. Students will have plenty of time to practice what they have learned 1-on-1 in a supportive environment. No prior massage or yoga therapy experience is necessary.
�� Half of the workshop price must be paid at time of registration the other half may be paid on day of the workshop.

I've got two sets of airbrush equipment that I'm looking to get rid of. I thought that some artists might be interested so i'm posting it here.

I've got one airbrush tattoo set, with inks, setup supplies, and a CO2 tank (still full, only used once). I've also got a hobby set with an air compressor and a Paasche VL0808 dual action gun.

I'm hoping to get like $400-500 out of it, since I paid a lot more. I'm job hunting and i've got bills coming up, so getting rid of my hobby stuff is the only way I know to pay. :/

The WGirls was founded in NYC when a group of young professional women decided to host weekly get-togethers to hang out, catch up and plan events.....over drinks. As the group grew and friendships formed, the girls decided to commit their time, energy and talents to helping those less-fortunate. Today, the WGIRLS aims to provide underprivileged women and children with the support and resources necessary to achieve health, happiness, and the ability to lead productive and successful adult lives.

Given the success of the group in NYC, we have decided to launch the New Orleans chapter, making this a great time for you to join! By partnering with other nonprofit organizations and hosting charity events, we will be able to affect reverberating positive change in the lives of women and children in both local and international communities.

That includes dusting all surfaces, cleaning all counter tops in the home, cleaning toilets and tubs, cleaning all mirrors in the home, making beds, and sweeping, vaccumning, and mopping. If there is more that you would like done that is not listed, I am willing to do more and we can negociate the price for more services. hey just thought i would let people in on some ways i am getting free amazon.com gift cards. its a great way to get some free money for christmas. None of these sites require any personal information. some do ask for shipping information but even then you dont have to put in yoour real address if you dont want to because the gift cards will come to you email. if you have any questions feel free to email me.

1)The first site and prob the best site i use is irazoo.com. I get about 15 or more dollars a month worth of amazon gift cards. all you do is search the internet and each site put a comment for 8 points and put yes or no if you reccomend it for 8 points. you can get 300 pts each day and it costs 3000pts for an 5 dollar amazon card. so you can get three a month at the least. if you want to sign up here is my link.

This Halloween, children are invited to something new, an interesting alternative event for Halloween, a Reformation party, at Love Lutheran Church, from 6PM to 7PM. It was on Halloween, October 31st, that Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door at Wittenberg in 1517, starting the Reformation. We will celebrate the 483rd anniversary of that event Saturday, October 31st, at Love. Instead of trick-or-treating, children will "Sing for their supper." In Luther's day, schools did not provide meals; students went through town, singing, and householders gave them something to eat. Here, children will knock on doors within the church to get treats. Children can then eat their supper in the town square where everyone will gather to enjoy good German food and music. There will be games like "Nail the Theses to the Church Door," and "Here I Stand" musical chairs. Later there will be a candlelit procession and reenactment of the Theses posting. Children will have candy and goodies and some Lutheran items, too, to take home. Children of all faiths, and their accompanying adults, are welcome to enjoy the food and fun this October 31st.
